Avid Mbox 3 Random dropouts!

Hi! I own the Avid Mbox 3, works great besides the constant dropouts! And once it drops it disappears from the sound preferences, forcing me to restart my computer. It does this after a few hours of use or when I leave my computer un attended.

Anyway I'm open to any suggestions or links!

Xbox Pro OSX 1.3.5
El Capitan 10.11.6
Macbook Pro 15 inch 2011

Is your Mbox the USB version or the Firewire version? What driver version are you running? Have you gone through the Optimization Guide - specifically anything with power save?

It's usb and i did the steps in the optimization guide and adjusted the power save to not turn on. Still dropping out randomly and now its getting worse. Once it drops it can't recognize Avid mbox and I'm required to restart my computer to get it working again

My sound drops out now and then as well. If I toggle the standard audio device in Windows to another device in the list and back to the mbox iz comes back without a restart. Turning the mbox off and on again also works.

Firewire in my case though.
