Default Importing audio files

Error MP3 for forum.PNGHello, I originally had a macbook pro that had no problems with this. I now have a Windows 10 AMD A10. But the problem I am having is I want to import mp3 files (i.e. drum tracks from youtube, etc.) but I get an error message at the bottom of the window [screenshot attached to this thread]. Hallllp. thanks.

Warning, not a PC user, have never owned one......

But.....

Isn't there an issue with Quicktime and Win10?

I remember hearing that somewhere.

The message says: "QuickTime is not installed."

Is it actually installed? IIRC, there is an Avid Knowledgebase regarding QuickTime being an issue if it is installed after Pro Tools is installed.

Cheers,

Indeed, I would install iTunes and Quicktime(they are free) and see if that helps. Then, how are you downloading audio from youtube? Whatever add-on you use is saving the audio in a format that Pro Tools does not recognize, so either try a different converter, check to see if what you have has other options for output format, or find out what kind of file is being saved, and search for a converter that will read and convert those files to something that PT does recognize
