Help With Outputs - Audition Path
I'm having an issue with my outputs on Protools 11.3.1. I want to be able to use my entire interface outputs to run individual tracks or stems through.
However, when I use outputs 1-2 for, say, a drum stem, the entire daw session is running through those channels. I've tried changing my audition paths and my default output bus and it's still unchanged. I've read through the manual on this subject as well and it doesn't say much regarding this. Am I limited to only using 14 outputs? Or is there a way that I can use 1-2 without having to hear the entire session through them? Thanks for your help |

Re: Help With Outputs - Audition Path
Hi, What interface are you using? You should be able to set your mix to go out through any physical output or bus if your I/O is set up properly to do so, and your audio tracks are set to send the mix out the channels you want it to. Maybe if you could post a screenshot of your Output page of the I/O setup and a screenshot of your Mix window that would help.

Re: Help With Outputs - Audition Path
I'm using a FF800. It has 8 analog outputs, but does not have the separate monitor outputs that my 002 had. Opening the Fireface settings page doesn't help either. It doesn't have anything to adjust analog outputs; only analog inputs and phantom power settings etc

Re: Help With Outputs - Audition Path
What does your output page in the Pro Tools I/O Setup look like?

Re: Help With Outputs - Audition Path
Might be time to familiarize yourself with TotalMix.

Re: Help With Outputs - Audition Path
Hello. I wanted to open this conversation again.
here is a screenshot of my input/outputs. I've been using every analog output and (but the DAW MAIN output) and 8 adat outputs for summing into my 1202. Funny thing is that even when all my tracks are routed to the other outputs and the main bus meter is Protools is showing no activity, I am still hearing the entire mix coming out of my DAW MAIN output through the DAW MIX input on my monitor mixer. How is it that all of my tracks, being routed through other outputs, are still coming through the Main 1-2 output? Why does the entire mix come through 1&2, even through I only assign certain tracks to stem out through it? This means I can only use 14 channels of summing, instead of 16. Help? |
