Default mbox 2 connecting to a mixer

hello, in simple terms please explain. I want to connect my mbox 2 to a mixer but when i try to connect through s/pdif it makes a constant ringing sound through the speakers.also when i connect my triton to the regular connection it makes a ringing (quieter) sound as well. dont know why. extremely frustrated. probably going to pay for studio time. thanks for your time and concern. I'm not quite following you. Does your mixer have an SP/DIF input? If not, it is a typical analog mixer and you need to connect your Mbox to it using the Mbos's analog outs to one of the analog inputs on the mixer.

As for the Triton, are you connecting the analog outputs to the mixer's analog inputs?

SP/DIF is a digital format and does not work with analog connections?

yes my mixer has s/pdif inputs, and i am coonecting the triton properly because i can record, it just rings real quiet for some reason.(like there is to much power going into it.).the mixer only supports 300 watts, maybe that's the problem?

Just for the sake of sanity, which mixer are you using?

Ummmm... the PV14 does not have S/PDIF. Those are line level RCA connectors; Analog Audio connectors.

S/PDIF is a digital audio format. It uses the same size RCA connectors, but the format is TOTALLY different. You cannot connect the RCA jacks of the PV14 to the S/PDIF rca jacks on the MBox. They are two totally different things.
