MIDI I/O Firmware flash?

OK. They've dropped this device.
1. Just toss and get something else? ________
2. Put up with the Audio MIDI settings adding bogus devices?
3. Keep looking for a solution to the MIDI I/O-AMS issues?

Avid. One more firmware patch?

I use the MIDI I/O for 3 remote preamps and one MIDI grand pno.

OS 10.6.8, Mac Pro 8 core, PT's 9.0.5, 2 192's HD3
