PT DITHER x masterist dither x TC masterxdither x l1, q10 dither
WHICH DITHER IS BETTER? ANY problem using two simultaneously? Is a good deal send tracks to Pt during recording with Yamaha O2R dither already?

I don't think you'd want to use two simultaneously.

From the 4 you mention, I prefer L1 by far. But POWr dither is maybe better. It's been in PT since 5.1.1.

Re: PT DITHER x masterist dither x TC masterxdither x l1, q10 dither
My hopinion:
L1 dither is "liquid", the sound has less edge and is "fluctuant". i don't use it anymore UV22 is very clean but a little bit too sharp Pow R is my favorite, it draw a kind of "grid" or "texture" or "coloration" in the sound, but is for me the most MUSICAL |

Re: PT DITHER x masterist dither x TC masterxdither x l1, q10 dither
TC is the best as far as my ears can see. (?) I like it's presets actually, but I stay far away from any master channel squish unitl the very end of the day, at which point it becomes about how the mix sounds on boombox size speakers. The TC
has some enhancement options which come close to the pro mastering folks. However NOTHING compares to the folks with the REAL mastering gear at the high end houses. Generally, I'd say, the format of digital actually by nature squishes the dynamic range on it's own. So my advice would be to track and mix with an open, un squished master track and only after PRINTING the final 24 bit mix, then dig into the possibilities for mastering plugs. This way you always have the unaffected mix to deal with if you choose to go back and re tweak the master channel squish factor. Good luck, Keep asking these type of questions. With this group you'll be educated. Dat be foe show... Re: PT DITHER x masterist dither x TC masterxdither x l1, q10 dither
POW-R dither is a new plugin with 5.1.1 yes. If you are using a plugin to dither to 16 bits on your master fader, you must turn all dithering at later stages off. One dither is all you need, and any more will degrade the sound. In short, do not use masterlist dither. Pick one or the other.

Re: PT DITHER x masterist dither x TC masterxdither x l1, q10 dither
Could someone just spell it out and direct me to that Pow-R.
Is it in the new dithered mixer , is it a plug, should I see it in the plugs list or do I select it in the preferences???? perhaps I'm just has 5.1 .... and not 5.1.1? |

If you are on 5.1.1 (not 5.1) it will simply be in your list of plugins within Protools. I really like the results with it so far.
