mbox (1) and SPDIF multitracking
Could somebody set me straight? Can I use the SPDIF inputs on my MBox to take into PT more than two simultaneous tracks being sent by a digital mixer (you know, like 6 or 8)? I'm a novice, but I've got access to a 24-channel digital mixer and wondering if I can do more simultaneous tracking through my mbox...
I appreciate the advice. Tim |

Mbox 1 has 2 inputs only. EITHER 2 analogue OR 2 spdif - NOT simultaneously. |

I believe that it is the mbox 2 that will do the 2 analoge and two spdif another upgrade!

Re: mbox (1) and SPDIF multitracking
Thanks for the help. Yup, my mbox will only do two channels at a time... and it looks like SPDIF is not the magic solution for me...
I'm trying to do a "studio" set up for a one-time project with some friends. We have access to a digital mixing board (a Behringer DDX3216) and I have PTLE6 and an MBox. Any suggestions for getting the tracks from the mixer into PT for mixing and editing? Maybe I can get the mixer to send the tracks individually to a hard disk or CD burner, then just import them into PT. Or should I give up and just record two tracks at a time? Tim |
