Default Waveform Size Display Issue Pro Tools 10

I have an apparently randomly appearing waveform display problem:
the same audio clip put on two different tracks is displayed in different waveforms in terms of amplitude, just as it would be if you change the clip gain. My problem is: clip gain on both clips is set to 0dB, no processing has been done to those clips. Very annoying, as it is impossible to say for sure if there is sufficient signal in a clip nor how loud is going to be without playing it back. Even more annoying if you try to cut parts of the same clip, put them on a different track, and voilà: the "source" clip shows a decent signal, but the just moved part of the same clip seems to be twice as loud.

Is anyone experiencing the same problem here? Any workarounds? Did I just miss a basic setting that enables tracks to be seen in different zoom settings at the same time?!

A typical example: I copy a part of a clip on a track, paste it to the track above, and the waveform shows a 20dB more amplitude (that is at least the amount I'd have to reduce the pasted clip parts clip gain to see the same amplitude display as on the source clip). The problem is that, of course, the pasted clip would play 20dB softer than the source clip after reducing the clip gain which hence is now workaround at all.

EDIT: I might have found a solution: option + a to show the whole session and zooming back in could help.

EDIT II: Just for the record: ProTools 10.2.0 incl. CPTK on Mac Os X 10.7.4

As Felix mentions, option + A will reset all zoom levels.

Tracks can have individual zoom settings for waveform height, use the above key command to reset everything to default.
