Midi, output already being used????

Hello, I installed pro tools on a new Mac and cant getto record Midi nor on instr nor in midi track. I configured everything as it was in older Mac, set busses, istalled Xpand, I see the column is rising when I play and I hear the notes, but when I record the tracks are blank they dont show the notes, when I try to choose my midi instrument in inserts it says that h/w insert can not be used because its allready being used???? also when i put xpand the colum is not rising when playing keys on the keyboard anymore too. Please help, I spend allready more than few hours trying to figure out and fix this. Id be very grateful, thank you!

i believe Xpand can only be used as INSTRUMENt track NOT midi track

you can use aditional midi tracks if you are using "multitimbral"

I use it on instrumental track, I dont know it confusing, im new to pro tools. I have xpand on instumental tracks, when i try to use i/o on instrumental from my keyboard it says channel allready being used.

also im trying to record drum pattern to pt instrumental track but all I get is midi notes how can i record actual drum beat that i have in my keyboard??? it should be possible? thanks.
