7.0 C/8 troubles

Has anyone had problems with 7.0? I just installed the upgrade from 6.7 to 7.0 and my C/8 is acting funny. It lights up and shows you track names and even shows highlighted tracks, it even shows the counters counting down correctly. But it will not control anything. It keeps saying "Dialog" or "Pro Tools has dialog on screen" when there is no dialog on screen. I have uninstalled and reinstalled, checked connections, power cycled, removed from preferences, added back to preferences, updated driver in device manager and rebooted my computer several times to no avail. Has anyone seen this before?

It would seem that it's a midi problem, rather than a driver issue. Check that you are using the C|8 on the correct midi channel, command port 1. Also check you have the device checked in the midi input devices.

Every time you upgrade the C|8 looses the connection with PT. It's happened to me every time i have had to upgrade. I'm running PT LE 7 on a mac and I have to re route the device when this happens.

You may wanna disconnect any other midi equipment as well and see if it communicates then. You might have an issue with another devices in the mid chain. Do you have anything else connected to the midi?

Hey guys I got it working I changed and looked at so many things I'm not sure what fixed it.

Ok guys it's doing it again. It says "Pro Tools has a dialog on screen" but there is no dialog. I can run a session just like normal with the mouse. It seems to be just certain sessions I think. I must be trippin.

Try Ditching your DAE prefs and the digiset preference file. Not sure what it's called on a PC.
Also you may wanna get rid of the digidesign database's on your all your mounted hard drives.
Other than that, I think it may be time to do an uninstall of PT LE and put it back on again.

yes I have the same behaviour here on PC and HD3....."Dialog" but no message on screen.....

Happens Randomly??

Will keep fiddling......Also if I install my Midisport 2x2 it kicks the C8 midi port off as well....

Please try the trashing of preferences and let us know if this seems to be session specific or not.

Should I trash DAE preferences as well as digi database folders.

Yup, trash the DAE prefs, which is a folder. Also trash the Digidesign Databases, also a folder.

There is also a digi set preference files which needs to bee dumped as well, it's situated under the DAE folder in prefs.
