Default InterLok driver installation

Lenovo Thinkpad SL500
2 GHz processor
Windows Vista Home Premium
Mbox 2 Mini
LE 8
2.00 GB of RAM

I've just bought and downloaded Pro Tools LE 8. The installation froze at one point so I quit and tried again and it seemed to install fully then. I was surprized to then be asked to install 'InterLok device drivers', but anyway I went on paceap.com and downloaded the installer. My problem is that the installer isn't working; it says "Error 1305. Error reading from file... (in \AppData\Local\Temp) Verify that the file exists and that you can access it." But the file definately does exist and I can access it. I've tried installing with User Account Control turned off but that didn't work. I've also tried moving the temp file onto Desktop and running the installer from there. This gives me "Error 2203. Database: C:\Windows\Installer\e8cfe1.ipi. Cannot open database file. System error -2147287035". The 'Installer' folder doesn't seem to exist. So how can I solve this?

There didn't seem to be any other mention of these errors in the forum.

I'm asking this here because InterLok support requires that I buy an ilok USB and register I think (which I'm not prepared to do when absolutely nothing was mentioned of InterLok when I was buying Pro Tools).

grab the needed drivers from ...http://www.paceap.com/dldrvr.html then uninstall PT8, install Pace/Ilok drivers, reinstall PT8...you should be str8 after that.

That didn't work; still getting the same errors. Thanks anyway though.

Any other suggestions?

make sure you do not have any other version of the Pace drivers already installed. i've seen it cause issues when tryin' to update. if so, then uninstall those first then install the latest version. hope that helps

Nah, it's not that. Could it have something to do with my version of Windows? Also, is there any way of getting free Interlok support without registering?

Do you have IE8 installed? We have seen Pace have some random issues with it.

Have it installed now. Just needed to move the temp folder onto Desktop where the 'drivers installer' was.
