Default No Plugins Pro Tools 11

I've just installed the Pro Tools 11.2.1 trial on my system, with PT10 already installed. I also installed the AIR bundle that came with PT11, and have gone to each of my plugin manufactures and downloaded/re-installed the most recent version of their plugins, which all say they include AAX64.

When launching Pro Tools 11, I have very few plugins available. It appears only those that come with the actual application. None of the AIR plugins are available - none of my Waves plugins, Eventide Ultrachannel, EZDrummer, Melodyne, etc.

Pro Tools 10 still seems to function properly and see all plugins.

What have I missed? The only thing I've found on the forum is to install the latest version and make sure it is AAX64, which I have done.

Pro tools 10 uses ONLY RTAS and 32-bit AAX plugins. Pro Tools 11 uses ONLY 64-bit AAX. So your PT10 plugins are by design NOT 64-bit AAX. Some of the more current plugins will actually install BOTH 32 and 64 bit applications, some let you select. If you installed them with ONLY PT 10, the installer likely didn't "see" an application for 64-bit if you installed them BEFORE PT11 was on your system. You'll need to make SURE to find the 64-bit installers for those to appear in PT 11. But do it after you've loaded up on pumpkin pie and Cool Whip. Especially Cool Whip.

Thanks - I understand all of that - I reinstalled all of the plugins with latest installers that include AAX64 after installing PT11. The only one that gave me a manual option of which versions to install was Eventide, and I selected RTAs, AU, AAX64, etc.

And like I said, I cant even see the AIR plugins that come bundled with PT11 in a separate installer. I also installed that after installing PT11.

As far as I can tell, Waves only has one installer also. I downloaded the V9-23 installer that was released this morning and reinstalled those. Can't see those in PT 11 either.

Thanks for the help! Happy Thanksgiving!

I would try to delete prferences n databases as that deletes .plists aswell and forces PT11 to re-load all plugins that can be used in PT11

Try that and see if it helps your plugins to come back

Sincerely
Christopher

Also, check to see if these actually were installed in the correct location:
Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/Avid/Audio/Plug-Ins

Check the permissions on the Plug-Ins folder...

Go to Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/Avid/Audio/

Hilight the Plug-Ins folder, Command+i to Get Info on the folder.

The Sharing & Permissions area at the bottom of the info window should be set to Read & Write. If they are not, change them.

Thanks.

I deleted prefs and databases, it did take longer to load as it reloaded the few plugins it had, but did not get any of my other plugins I am missing.

I went to the Mac Hd, Library, App support, avid folder and all my plugins appear to be there. But, this includes a handful of older plugins I use in PT10 that I haven't tried reinstalling the 64 version for PT11. Might this be ghe PT10 plugin folder? Do PT10 and 11 share the same folder?

Also, permissions on the plugins folder is set to Read and Write

Are you still on OSX 10.7? If so then that might be the issue as PT11 requires atleast 10.8.4 to function.

Can you confirm?

Christopher

Here is the OS compatibility chart:

Sorry, my profile on here is very out of date. I'm on the same iMac (11,1) but am running os10.9.5. PT10.3.7 and PT11.2.1.

I see that 10.9.5 isn't qualified yet. 10.9.4 is. Not sure how to go back easily. But PT10 works great on this system.

Then I doubt that is the problem here as others have used 10.9.5 without issue.

This is really strange. I have to go to sleep now as it's 05:37 a.m here and I have been up all night catching up on my favorite TV shows so hopefully someone else on the same time zone jumps in tonight

All The Best
