Default want to enlarge waveform to occupy whole screen

Hi there, how are you. I'm running Pro Tools First 2020 on Windows 10, and I'd like to learn how to isolate and greatly enlarge a selected portion of a waveform. On a YouTube video, the instructor enlarged the waveform selection greatly in a vertical direction so that it took up a sizeable area of the screen - thus allowing him to make precise edits. I heard I could use "Zoom toggle" and press the E button to activate it, however, it's not working when I do it. Also in the video, the instructor had many more zoom buttons (near upper left-hand corner where smart tools are) than I do on Pro Tools First 2020. Maybe he's running a paid version - could that be why? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Take good care, rbracch

On mac the zoom toggle is ctrl-E. Windows, start-E, maybe?
You can also put PT in "keyboard focus" mode (click the little A/Z symbol top right in the edit window), and all shortcuts are just the letter. Like, E.

Yep^^^ My preference is to always have keyboard focus enabled so the E key does the quick zoom in and out. You can also grab the bottom edge of any track(on the left box) and drag any track as tall as you like. You also will want to get used to the T and R keys(which zoom in/out horizontally. There are also settings in Preferences on this.
