Microsoft Windows 8.

Thanks
Ben

Shared graphics can be a show stopper for Pro Tools, not to mention that, without someone giving a specific model and brand that IS running Pro Tools well, its a total crap shoot. If you MUST have a laptop, I only recommend MacBook Pro models(preferably last years model with FW and an i7 CPU).(and I'm a PC guy).

Once again, its a total crapshoot(at least without a detailed Sandra report as described in this thread found in the top pane of this and every DUC page)
Help us Help You-READ THIS Before Posting!
Some i5 rigs are working and some(like mine) are NOT. Take a look down the first page of this link:
http://duc.avid.com/showthread.php?t=238426
as it has a ton of great info, advice and tweaks. In any case, you MUST have 2 hard drives and the second drive(where you save your sessions) MUST meet certain specs. For a Windows 7 machine, that means 7200rpm and NOT firewire(SATA, eSATA and USB2 should all work). Pro Tools is a finicky mistress. Give it what it needs(re. hardware and system tweaks) and she will reward you. Treat her bad........duck and cover!!
