Default Mbox pro with usb conexión?

Hi everyone.

Well, I have an interface Mbox Pro but my mac it doesn't have another thunderbolt port free, however it has an USB port free.

So, I want to connect Mbox Pro for that usb port free, it could work? Mbox Pro has two fireware ports, if I put a conversor fireware to usb, could work? Pro tools and mac could recognize it?

Kind regards!

It will not work over USB as there is no converter/adapter that works. Most thunderbolt devices allow for daisy-chaining devices, so maybe thunderbolt to firewire off the last device? Or sell the Mbox and get a USB interface.

So we are having to guess a little what exact iMac you have. Presumably it's this one or close. https://everymac.com/systems/apple/i...013-specs.html with dual Thunderbolt 1 ports.

So what exact peripherals are taking up both of those Thunderbolt ports? If those peripherals have dual Thunderbolt ports then you can just hang an Apple Thunderbolt to Firewire adapter off the end of that chain as Dave said.

If that does not work I would be looking at removing those peripherals if they are not really needed, or a placing a Thunderbolt hub like this https://eshop.macsales.com/shop/Thun...nderbolt2-Dock (that provides a Thunderbolt 800 port) ahead of whatever other peripherals you gave on those Thunderbolt ports.
