Default New CEDAR TDM Plug-ins

I just saw where CEDAR has made available three new TDM plug-ins for Pro Tools -- Auto DeHiss, Declip, and ReTouch. The basic info and screen shots are on their webpage here.

Anybody know how much these will cost, and when they'll be available? I'm curious to see how they compare to the standalone CEDAR hardware boxes, as well as existing plug-ins like the Sony Oxford Restoration package and the Waves stuff.

I noticed these a couple days ago but I was very disappointed to find out that they are PC only. I really hope they put out a Mac version at some point.

Oh yeah. Here comes CEDAR again… whoohoo! They, ahem, “tried” the PT way many years ago - in a half-assed way - and then retreated to to their box-only way. PC-only? Good luck, delicate geniuses*!

* Yes, I mean that most sarcastically.

Hello. Yes these were announced at AES, Retouch as far back as NAB. This is what they told me at AES. The idea is to eventually have all or most of the processes as plug ins. The reason they are Windows XP only is because of the Mac switch. After it happens they plan on releasing Mac versions. The Retouch plug in will be around $3600, the others probably a bit less.

Personally, I'm saving for the hardware Cedar, DNS 1000...
For now, I'm using a cost efficient, and quite well sounding Bias SoundSoap Pro!
For that price you'll get a all-in-one plug, with even a gate in the end....

Check it out.

You may want to hold off, I have been in email communications with Algorithmix & they look set to be releasing ReNOVAtor for Protools MacOSX in a matter of weeks. They're also looking to release the Red & Orange Linear Phase EQ's in Q1 2006. These will be expensive but should take Protools to a new level of sonics.

hi,

...fyi, i noticed it too recently and i e-mailed CEDAR US. he told me that CEDAR UK has no plans to come out with a MAC version. however, he agreed withy me that a a TON of POST people are on MACS, so he will forward my request and keep my details. i am sure music, restoration , and mastering prople could use these plugs too.

so...maybe inundate the company with e-mails!

Hello. For what it's worth this is diametrically opposed to what they told me at AES and NAB this year. They said the reason that there are no Mac version is becuase of the ever changing nature of the software and the impending change to Mac Intels. They do realize the majority of TDM systems are Mac. So for now Windows XP only and then when the whole Mac thing gets sussed out well, they will probably do the Mac versions. I don't doubt they didn't tell you that, I am just telling you what they told me.
