Default Update 8.03 causes problems running win7

Hi. Since I bravely installed the update to 8.03 the other day I have had nothing but problems. First of all. I get the error message: 'System error. Errorreport.dll is missing. Reinstall the program'. But I can ignore the message and run pt sessions. Just annoying. Another problem being that the play markers and region markers do not work with certain sessions, and in some sessions there is no midi data shown on the project area (time line). Strange.
Another major problem is that all my 3dparty plugins have stopped working. PT claims that they are not correctly installed or that they have not been registered trought the Ilok, but this is not the case.
All above worked perfectly with Pro Tools 8.0. What can be wrong?
I have not altered anything on my pc. All hardware and settings are the same. No viruses of any sort.
I have tried to reinstall the program a dozen of times, but no luck.
Even uninstalled every digidesign drivers and the creative pack.
Hope some one can help me with this

Please start with the steps in the General Troubleshooting, especially trashing preference and database files. You may want to try a clean uninstall/reinstall as well.

After you've gone through everything in that thread, if you're still having problems, please post a Sandra report and as much specific information as possible about any issues you're still experiencing. For instance, if plug-ins aren't authorizing we need to know the name of the plug-in, the version number you have installed and the name of the authorization on your iLok.

The Help Us Help You thread has more details about what we need to know to assist you further.

Hello again. Thanks very much for taking the time to respond.
I have tried the suggested things. Trashed the prefs and plugins and everyting, and I have uninstalled PT8.03 a dozen of times. No luck.
I even reinstalled PT 8.00 which prior to the update ran flawlessly.
Now PT 8.00 shows the same error message as 8.03.
Being: errorreport.dll is missing, plz. reinstall the program.
But you asked for the sandra system report and here it is. Please note that the pinnacle firewire card has a Texas instrument chipset (control panel hardware properties shows this in win7) allthough it is not mentioned in the report. Here is the report:

Further more. I just bought an external Lacie d2 quadra harddisk that I connect trough firewire400, but plz. bare in mind that the Pro Tools error above appeared before I installed the disk to the system, so this should be ignored as a possible error.

This is happening to me too, I know how you feel, and I know its happening to many people I know.
I called Rob Papen company, because my Blue, and Predator seems to not work properly any more.
and many times my Protools freezes completely and I get a very extremely loud
(Zzzzzz) blaring ear piercing sound when frozen.
which forces me to have to do a hard shut down of my system.
Which I hate to do, because hard shut downs shocks the processor and can really burn the CPU out.
and it also corrupts the operating system as well.

I also get errors on VSTi's when trying to use them.
something about DAE then a number error.
I have to click on my Blue or Predator several times in order for it to kick in.
and even then it throws a fit.

I called Rob Papen company so many times about it.
they can't seem to find the problem.

I am hoping that Digidesign fixes the bugs soon.
Because ALL this started happening ever since 8.0.3

I am wondering if Protools is ready for 64-bit. so I can try it out.
instead of this 32-bit crap.

I just ordered an Ads Pyro 64bit firewire card. Although my pinnacle firewire card uses a texas instrument chipset, it is better to be safe than sorry. Strange that I am the only on this planet with a 'errorreport.dll is missing' error.

The general consensus at the moment is that if you're in need of making music immediately, and if it's not too much hassle for you, you should go back to using Windows XP with PT 8.0.1cs1 - until 8.0.4 full is released.

There are those that have 8.0.3 working fine in W7 32bit, and a few in 64bit too. But as I said - if you can't afford to waste time trying to get things working, you should do the above.

Hi YoRugMan I see your point but the point, and thus the frustration is that I had pt 8.00 working fine with windows 7 64 bit, but since I installed 8.03 and later uninstalled it, and afterwards reinstalling version 8.00, it all of a sudden had the same error message that first appeared with version 8.03. Prior to that I had no error messages with pro tools 8.00.
