PT Native on a mac with HD cards

Howdy.

Can I run PT 10 Native on a mac even though it has HD cards in it?

I don't expect to be able to route through the I/O but I'd love to have the option to at least run PT 10 native if needed...

You could but the question is why? When you say PT10 Native do you mean non-HD PT?

I'm currently running V 8.1 on my TDM rig.

I have at times had clients files come to me as .ptx files and would love to be able to re-save, or even use 10 for their quick gigs.

You might be able to keep V8 TDM alive and have PT's 11 regular.
PT's 10 would loose (Write over) your version 8.

PT 8TDM and PT's 11 native would nee system restart between uses.
11 would use core audio outputs

A separate drive partition may be another option.

Nowheres was PT11 mentioned. Just PT10.

But separate boot partitions would be the only way PT8 and PT10 could co-exist on one machine.

You can't have a co-install of two different versions of PT on the same boot partition unless you have PT 10 and PT11 but PT11HD can't access the TDM cards.
