Default PT 11 - Superior Drummer Velocity

Hey all - I have Superior Drummer in Pro Tools 11 hooked up to a Roland TD-11. I've noticed that it plays very, very quietly. I have to hit the e-kit pretty hard to get full volume. I've gone into Superior Drummer and adjusted the velocity for individual instruments, but I'm wondering if there's a smarter/easier way to do this.

Thanks.

Have you looked at what the Roland brain is sending out velocity-wise? You should be able to adjust the velocity response in the TD11 brain. It's probably set up to work with the Roland pads first and anything else is an afterthought. Another thing is are you sure that SD is really using incoming velocity and isn't running at a fixed velocity setting and ignoring actual incoming velocity?

What I tend to suggest in cases like this with MIDI issues is to get one of the free MIDI monitor utility programs and see exactly is in the MIDI stream going to the computer. snoize on a Mac and MIDI-OX on Windows are two that I know of.
