trying to get back into pro tools error 9060
after reinstalling the software, i wanted to see if it would run properly. in the past, it at least ran albeit with playback errors making it difficult to use.
now that i have a new pc, i got it installed, but upon doing anything, as simple as playing a .wav file, it pops up and error and becomes unresponsive. anyone know what error 9060 is? |

Re: trying to get back into pro tools error 9060
I'm not sure what the 9060 error specifically is, but have you gone through the Optimization Guides?
Also, can you post your system specs? http://duc.avid.com/showthread.php?t=300050 Joel

Re: trying to get back into pro tools error 9060
I actually havent. Looking through them though, im honestly not sure which ones would even be relevant to the issue (many of which involving drivers would typically already be up to date).
at the very least, i do know that my error pops up everytime the play button either via the spacebar or clicking the button occurs. at that point, ill play normally, then crash close 6 seconds later. i really dont know why pro tools has been giving me grief since i got it. literally any other daw i used has never complained. Re: trying to get back into pro tools error 9060
The only concerning thing I see in your system specs are your 5400rpm drives. As long as you're only using them as backup it should be fine, but make sure they arent your audio or sample drives.
The big things to optimize are going to be power saving related. Joel

Re: trying to get back into pro tools error 9060
One thing that pops up is you only have 16GB memory and it is not enough for Disc Cache to function properly. Either disable it or wait until your session has load itself into memory, unless you can add more memory.

Re: trying to get back into pro tools error 9060
16gb isnt enough memory? how much memory does it use and why?
anyways, i did a reset install, and out of sheer curiosity, i get an izotope dll error and an invalid elastic audio error. i thought i fixed that by downloading and replacing the original, but apparently, this is the root cause. error message by ignoring this issue, i can actually playback stuff. any way this can get fixed? |

Re: trying to get back into pro tools error 9060
Your error message is plugin specific so update the plugin first.
But going with my previous comment, 16GB with latest PT is not much. Sure you can get it going, but the experience is not so great. I have 64GB here and no issues.

Re: trying to get back into pro tools error 9060
how will i update the plugin? the first time i installed it, i just downloaded the plugin and replaced the old one with the new one. it was after that which i started getting that 9060 error.
EDIT: this is pro tools 12.8.3 |
