Re: What is best with HDX 10.3.2: 10.7.4 or 10.8.2?
10.7.5 w/ 10.3.3 on HDX 2 works OK here 2010 Mac Pro 12 core 32GB RAM
going from 10.7.4 - 10.7.5 seemed to help me out. |

I'd stick with 10.7.4/5 for now. Was having CPU errors on 10.8.2 on a Mac Pro 2.66 12 core, 32 gig ram, HDX-1.
Went down to 10.7.4 and it's rock solid.

Re: What is best with HDX 10.3.2: 10.7.4 or 10.8.2?
You can roll back to 10.7.5 quite easily. I cloned my main Mountain Lion drive to an external hard drive partition as a back up of what came with the system. I then created a new partition on my main drive where I would be installing Lion. You can still buy Lion from apple but you have to call them. Its a short process of them emailing you a code and entering it in to your App Store to reveal the Lion Downloader. Before downloading and installing you need to change one systemversion.plist file to show you are on 10.7 instead of 10.8. If you don't then the installer will tell you that you have a newer version or that it cant be installed on your computer. Change that Plist file and you can download and install Lion onto the partition you created. Change back the Plist file once you have lion on the partition to exactly what it was before. Then make the Lion partition your boot drive. Load up all your software on your Lion system and when you have everything the way you want it, clone that partition to your external hard drive as a back up as well. Now you can delete the originally installed Mountain lion partition from the hard drive in your computer and you are officially rolled back to Lion where things work better. I had nothing but problems on ML. Switched everything to Lion and go figure. It all just works.

So as an update - has anybody with CPU spikes etc... gone back to 10.7.x and seen improvements?
Does PT11HD work with 10.7?

Buying a 2013 Mac Pro I had to go with OS 10.9.3 and PT 10.3.9.
Solid as a rock. As long as you don´t touch Safari while PT is running.

Are you serious about safari causing problems for pro tools?!
