Default can\'t open pro tools after install eqIII plug-in

After downloading and installing my new eqIII plug-in, I cannot open the pro tools application. I recieve the message "The application 'Pro Tools' could not be launched because of a shared library error:<Pro Tools PPCdbg><MultiShellCode><DSI><DsiDoHostCommand>" How can I solve this problem? Please help soon - need to get back to work. Thanks in advance fellow users.

You could try re-installing Pro Tools and/or the new EQ.
If that doesn't do it, maybe Digi will see this and investigate it as a bug.
Good Luck!

I guess it΄s the only way. Not lucky enough that EQIII works with 6.4,the fact remains that all the digi plug-ins required an update within the 6.4 release:

Quote:
Important Information About Pro Tools LE 6.4 Plug-In Updates

Except where noted, plug-ins on this page are included on the Pro Tools LE 6.4 Update CDs, and the Pro Tools LE 6.4 and LE CDs included with upgrades and new purchases.

In order to greatly reduce the size of the web downloads, these optional plug-ins are NOT INCLUDED with the Pro Tools LE 6.4 downloads. All Digidesign and Digi-distributed plug-ins must be updated in order to work with Pro Tools LE 6.4.

After running the Pro Tools 6.4 LE web update, you must download updates for any of these plug-ins that you own and install them after installing Pro Tools BEFORE launching Pro Tools. Otherwise an error and possible crash will occur on Pro Tools launch.

which means that basically all DIGI plugs are not compatible between the 6.1.x and 6.4 releases.

Just update the Digi plug-ins from the 6.4 LE OS X downloads -- you can also update any 3rd party plug-ins if needed usually free of charge (except maybe Waves)... or uninstall EQ III and forget about it.

The EQ III Plug-In is compatible with the following systems:

Digidesign-qualified Pro Tools systems running Pro Tools 6.7 or higher.

Try going to your plug-in folder an taking out the new EQIII plug-in....

ok , I trashed the new plug-in, but I'm still gettin gthe same error message. I even tried uninstalling and re-installing PT 6.1, but no luck. I thought for sure that would fix it. What could be going on here?
