CoreAudio Manager won't switch between sample rates!
I have a lot of recordings on my computer that are 96k/24bit. I am trying to play them through quicktime. They will play, but the coreaudio manager says that it is connected at 44.1 When I close all programs, then open up coreaudio manager, and try to switch the sample rate to 96khz, it will not let me (all other options besides 44.1 are greyed out).
I have the latest version of Pro Tools with all the driver updates. Has anyone else had this problem? This is my system: Mac OS 10.6.X (Latest) MacBook Pro Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz 4 GB ram 003 Firewire interface Pro Tools 9.0.1 with all updated drivers installed Last edited by wailnguitars; 02-01-2011 at 08:58 AM. Re: CoreAudio Manager won't switch between sample rates!
The sampling rate is dependent on the hardware. I don't know if your computer is capable of 96k.

Re: CoreAudio Manager won't switch between sample rates!
Try opening a Pro Tools session at 96k, close it and let us know if the sample rate is now 96k. Also make sure that Core Audio Manager doesn't show any clients connected before or after doing this.

Try switching the sample rate through Utilities>Audio MIDI Setup instead.

Re: CoreAudio Manager won't switch between sample rates!
If I have the digicore manager open before opening Pro Tools (no clients attached), Pro Tools "quits unexpectedly." I have to close the digicore manager and then open Pro Tools. Before, with version 8, whenever I opened Pro Tools, the digicore manager would open as well. With Pro Tools 9, it doesn't automatically open the digicore manager.
I created a new session @96khz and imported some of the 96khz files I was talking about. However, when I try to open the digicore manager AFTER Pro Tools is open, it says "not connected, hardware in use." After closing the 96khz session, and reopening the digicore manager, the sample rate is still at 44.1khz. Anyone know what is going on here? Thanks for your insight |

Re: CoreAudio Manager won't switch between sample rates!
Thanks guys. I switched the sample rate through the Audio/MIDI setup and the digicore manager is now connected at 96khz.
