Instantiating plugins while Eucontrol is open causing PT to freeze.

Avid Dock, two S1's. Mac Pro trash can, Mojave 10.14.6, PT 2020.11 Native. Eucontrol 2020.11. iPad and two Fire HD10 tablets, all Avid Control apps up-to-date.

Since the Eucon 2020.11 a couple weeks back, I've started noticing that PT will freeze upon instantiating plugins or even moving them from one insert slot to another. So far, it's random w/r/t plugin manufacturer. It seems to happen most w/iZotope and UAD plugs, but it's been several other manufacturers, as well, so no consistency on that front. All plugs are up-to-date.

The freeze will freeze the meters, playhead, any open plugin windows, and my S1s/Dock won't work, but audio will continue playing until I force-quit PT.

Normally, a restart of PT and Eucontrol will solve the issue for an hour or two, but then it'll come back. I can't find a pattern in it yet.

When I quit out of Eucontrol and just use PT without the S1s/Dock/Eucontrol, the freezes never happen.

I've reinstalled the Eucontrol software, and am currently re-installing iZotope plugs just to see if that helps. Any other thoughts as to what to try out? Really kills the vibe.

Following up a bit: I'm still having this issue but have started to narrow it down to happening almost exclusively when instantiating a plugin on a non-selected track. It seems to have to do with that. And it's happening only when EuControl is running, hence me dropping it in this sub-forum.

As I said initially, I've confirmed that it doesn't matter which plugin manufacturer, whether the transport is playing or not, whether I'm instantiating a new plugin or copying (option-dragging) a plugin from one channel to another, etc etc. The non-selected track is the only thing I've been able to notice as having at least some sort of consistency w/reproducing the issue, but even then, I'll work some days 6 or 8 hours and not have it happen once, then another day it'll happen over and over with no other changes at all to the rig nor my settings nor anything else.

Hi, Konstantine, here are those screenshots. I just now turned off "Select Most Recently Attentioned Track" under the "General" tab in preferences to see if that helps as I work today since that's the only thing I can notice so far. I'll followup later if it's better or the same.

Had a couple freezes today while instantiating on selected tracks, so that shoots my theory outta' the water about it happening only on non-selected tracks.

If no one else has noticed this, though, must be something weird going on w/my rig. I'll keep trying to find the culprit.

In the future, to save your (and our) time, always post 3 screen shots from EuControl so we can see your surface configuration and your personal settings.

Can you tell us know how many times the freeze occurs during your day.
Also, does this block you from doing your work?

One thing to try, when you have time, is un-installing EuControl, including Preferences, and re-installing it (the same version).

Anywhere from one to five or six times per day. Seemingly random and inconsistent. And yes, definitely blocks work as I have to force-quit PT and restart.
