Waves Plug Ins, transfer to new Mac??
Hi folks,
As ever grateful for any help. I've recently upgraded to a new HD Native set up and want to transfer my Waves SSL 4000 plugin from my old iMac to my new Mac Mini. I can't see anywhere on my Waves account details of advice on how to do this? I bought the plug approx a year and a half ago and don't see why I should have to pay for an upgrade? I've emailed Waves but meanwhile I wondered if I'm missing something? Thanks.

Re: Waves Plug Ins, transfer to new Mac??
You may need to upgrade because of compatibility with Mountain Lion. If you bought it a year and a half ago, you're probably on version 8, which does not seem to be compatible with Mountain Lion.
It shouldn't cost very much to buy WUP for just the SSL bundle. Also, regardless of if you're version is current or not, you generally do not want to transfer programs or plugins from one computer to the next, as it is likely to cause problems. That only works well for things like documents, photos, etc. For programs or plugins, you always want to re-download and install from the manufacturer's website. You will need to run the Waves installer, and just select the SSL bundle. But again, your version 8 may not be compatible with Mountain Lion. |
