You mean the ones they keep recalling because of display problems? They must be made by Toyota.

Seriously?? This is terrible news! I thought I'd found the one..

Are we talking all 27" models or just the i7 one?

I've got three friends with the 27" i7 iMacs and they are quite happy with theirs. I have not heard about the recall so I can't comment. There is an issue with the bluetooth needing to be turned on or off (opposite of the current setting) each time they start Protools however. It is a known problem that Digidesign is working on for now. As for "Is it a beast?" Apples own words reserve that term for the MacPros "Beauty outside...Beast inside" slogan.

If they were made by Toyota, would they go too fast?

Seems not all 27" iMacs have the display issue.

You never know what you'll be getting though.. How disappointing..

Hope the faulty ones can be fixed with just a software update..

I can't even imagine having to change the whole screen.. What a hassle..

I've been to the Mac store enough times over the past four months to have seen many many many of them being hauled in. So it must be taking more than just a download update. Something is.

ordered one Friday, there is a 3 week build time.

If there is a H/W problem with the screens, Apple will replace them. Not worried, but also excited as I'm upgrading from a (cough, cough) older machine...

No. They would accelerate slowly under the power from their battery. Then the "gas" pedal would get stuck and the brakes would not work. Luckily there would be a cushion of "smug" to prevent anyone from getting hurt.
