Boom and Mini Grand Crash PT 8.0.4
I just upgraded to 8.0.4 from 7.4 and am about to smash my whole studio I'm so frustrated!!!!
I'm using a Black Lion Audio modded 003 rack firewired into an external drive, then firewired into my iMac. 2.16 GHz, Core 2 Duo, 3 GB RAM, Snow Leopard 10.6.6 and PT 8.0.4. I have completed everything in the troubleshooting and optimization thread except "zapping the PRAM." I have started completely from scratch with my OS (snow leopard 10.6.6) AND Pro Tools (8.0.3 then updating to 8.0.4) TWICE and I still can't get Boom or Mini Grand to work. It wouldn't normally be that big of deal except my internet is too crappy to download BFD Lite 8 so I have no drums and need to work on some old sessions. For Boom, I can open it okay and my MIDI is all hooked up correctly because it responds to the keys I press on my Axiom 49 (the lights light up, but no sound). For Mini Grand, I can open it, but as soon as I press a key, or click on the virtual keys with the mouse, it crashes and gives the following lllloooonnngg message (thanks so much for any help!): Process: Pro Tools LE [344] Path: /Applications/Digidesign/Pro Tools/Pro Tools LE.app/Contents/MacOS/Pro Tools LE Identifier: com.digidesign.ProToolsLE Version: 8.0.3 (8.0.3f251) Code Type: X86 Re: Boom and Mini Grand Crash PT 8.0.4
This was the third time around wiping everything clean and re-installing and I didn't do the 8.0.4 update yet (as you can see in the error message). But it's the same message for 8.0.3 and 8.0.4. Thanks!

Re: Boom and Mini Grand Crash PT 8.0.4
This same thing happened to me when I first bought Pro Tools 8... It was a bad disc. Digi had to send me a new disc and it all went away.

Re: Boom and Mini Grand Crash PT 8.0.4
That would be great news if that's all it was! Did Avid send you a replacement without any hassle? Or did you get it from the place you originally purchased PT? The only reason I ask is because I bought PT off of ebay and it's past the return date. Thanks for your reply, man.

Re: Boom and Mini Grand Crash PT 8.0.4
I bought it brand new, but I didnt know it was the disc so It took me like a month before I was like I know its not my system or me. I called the Pay line thinking it was the disc and knowing if it was the disc the call would be free. After 2 hours on the phone with a Max. Rate of $35.00 the Tech said it had to be the disc and sent me a didgi download and then sent me a new disc. There was a time there around March-April 2009 that there were allot of bad disc. Your disc might have a serial number on it like the bad disc? IM not sure what you should do but man this totally what my disc did to the tee.
