I am particular interested in know if my motherboard will get along with ram I've chosen and if the graphic card will be ok.

thanks!
Everything looks good....but the trend with video cards is to get one with 512Mb or less of memory. They're getting harder to find, but I picked up the ATIFirepro v3700, which has 256Mb plus dual-dvi out to run two monitors.
I'm not sure if the larger memory video-cards are a problem anymore, but I played it safe and went with the firepro.

No sir, if you build your own i7 machine you should stick with NVIDIA. The 9800 is a good cheap card with full support. Or for a bit more the GTX 260 fills your screen with butter so your pixels just glide effortlessly.

The ATi builds get funky. My GTX 260 OC was ready to rock OOB, duel monitor too.

Stay away from ATI. Go with NVIDIA. The forum at the site i frequent is full of crazy ATI work arounds. And you could go with the i7 860 and OC it a bit. It will ive you more money for RAM. Look at tonymacx86 for some good info on parts and installs. My build worked OOB and took a few hrs to slap together and install. ^_^

ATI cards are not a problem with these builds.

Get your advice from the first post on this thread...the guys that put it together have thousands of posts here and a lot of experience.

What would be a stable but powerful vid card to run if one wanted the ability to run 3 monitors with this build?

Check out the Matrox MPVe or the Matrox tripleheadtogo.

Both pretty pricey....probably cheaper just to add another dual-head card.
