Hiss on all tracks after import
I am running Protools LE 7.3 on an HP DV5327 laptop using an MBox Mini2. I am using an external OWC firewire drive.
I had some 2" 16-track tapes converted to ProTools sessions (version 6) and am trying to import the audio. The import appears to work fine (import succeeds without error, waveforms are displayed correctly etc) but the meters are pegged during playback and all I hear is some serious white noise. I have seen others reporting this problem on the internet (couldn't find anything on this forum) but I have not seen any solutions. Any help would be sincerely appreciated. Chris |

Re: Hiss on all tracks after import
Can you playback any other wav files that have not been converted without the noise? Can you post one of the wave files?

Re: Hiss on all tracks after import
Turns out that everything works fine if the project is copied off the external hard drive to a local drive....weird...looks like any audio file on the external drive just creates white noise when played back through ProTools.
Sigh...yet another mystery to be solved. |
