Track / clip color is a joke?

It seems when I choose Track Color under 'Default Clip Color Coding' it (almost) never colors the clips to match the track color. On some rare occasions I'll close preferences and the clips will be color right but 99% of the time PT behaves like Trump. He does whatever he wants no matter what you, or the laws, want.

Exactly - don't need another thread closed because of things going political.

I agree though that track/clip coloring is a bit confusing even after RTFM.

What do you have selected under "Default Track Color Coding " if I have "Track Type" selected the then clips are the same color ??? If I have None under "track" (which is what I usually do since I use a specific color code ) and "Track Color " under Clip, then it's always the same color as the track.

Works just fine.
If your colors aren’t following the default track/clip color settings in preferences, then someone has changed those tracks or clips from a color setting of default. The preference will not override manually changed colors.

To reset;
Highlight all your tracks or clips
Select from the color panel “default”
