PT Wont Launch

Its been happy as larry for 6 months then yesterday out of the blue the program refuses to launch. The icon jumps up and down for a few seconds then nothing.
I tried reinstalling the program yesterday and still the same problem. Ideas?

Have you run the Apple software update? The 'bouncing icon' issue is usually connected with the PACE drivers. Run the Prebinding script (there's a download link on the Digi site).

I've not run the update recently and there are no updates that would affect PT.
I installed PACE drivers again after install.
I ran Prebinding script but said it wasn't needed.

Any other ideas?

Should have specified. I'm on 10.4.11.

I re-installed the 10.4.11 update just to make sure and re-ran the prebinding script (not needed). Still the same issue.
Is there anything else I can try? I don't have the time or stamina for a full system re-install. The thing that confuses me is this just happened randomly the other night!?

EDIT
Only just remembered. Recently I did delete some hidden files. Could this have been the problem. Some Global Preferences files and some .info. files. Have a I royally messed up PT?

Why did you do that, exactly?

Without knowing what was trashed specifically, it's difficult to say, but I'd say that given the symptoms those files were important.

Have you tried launching from a new admin account? If that doesn't help, then I'd try a clean uninstall/reinstall of Pro Tools.
