what deos adjusting fade bounds do?
i get a pop up now and then saying this.
one or more fade request are invalid due to insufficient audio data within the fade bounds.you may skip the invalid fade request(s), or adjust the bounds for those fades (where possible). when i tell the pop up to adjust the bounds it seams to move the crossfade, somewhre i dont want it. i have a work around but i want to know why this happens and how to fix it. |

Re: what deos adjusting fade bounds do?
Typically, I see this when I've erroneously tried to extend a fade through more material than is actually recorded in the region.
Example: I create a fade from silence to full level starting at the first cycle in the region; that works peachy. I go afoul when I grab the beginning of the fade and try to make it longer by starting it earlier, which won't work because I've already used the first available cycle in the region. There's no audio left in which to start the fade.

Re: what deos adjusting fade bounds do?
I also from time to time get these pop up when I'm using alot of fades in a mix. And from what I've heard at least, making Pro Tools adjusting the bounds doesn't screw up the fades or the way it sounds, it corrects so the fade is gonna sound good.
