Default MacBook Pro 15-inch i7 with SSD on order...how to best install software?

So....I decided to treat myself to a new MBP 15inch with all the bells and whistles to introduce it to Pro Tools 9 with intentions of using it strictly for that. I should be getting it within a week or so.

I bought IK Multimedia's software back in 2003 and still have licenses for that. I also have Pro Tools Instrument Expansion Package.

What would be the best order in which to install Pro Tools 9, IK Multimedia (Amplitube, Sampletank, TRex) software and Pro Tools Instrument Expansion Package?

PT9 has a software installation guide. I'd suggest following their recommendations.

Thanks for the help! I tried to find an installation guide online and wasn't very successful. This will help me figure out the order of installations.

Just a couple of things: Your IK multimedia discs are very old, and I'm sure they've had updates since then, so you'd do better to download the programs from their website (you'll need to log in to your account).

I would recommend you install PT9, then the other stuff (doesn't matter which one).

However, on the Ik Multimedia stuff, once you've installed them, open them in standalone mode first (under Applications). Anytime you have an software instrument or plugin that has standalone mode, it just seems to go a little smoother when you do this. You don't even have to do anything with them. Just open them for the first time in standalone mode, it sets itself up, then quit the applications. Then you can open them in Protools as plugins.

Yes....my IK Multimedia Studio Bundle is a little over 7 years old. I do have all of the discs and my online account lists my items. So I will try what you mentioned and open each as stand alone programs and see how it goes.

Thanks for the tips!
