Default Sennheiser MD441-U

I hope this is the right forum for this question.
Does anyone of you use the Sennheiser MD441-U for recording? What's your opinion of it?

I Agree. Better sounding than the 421, and that's a major player in and of itself.

I love the MD-441. It's a very versatile mic. I've used it on guitar amps, snare, acoustic guitar, vocals, and this past weekend found out it was great for accordian. You can often find them used for around $350, new they're twice that amount. Highly recommended.

Thanks. I tried a pair of them and they sounded o.k. But I had to turn my 002 console's preamp up to almost full, in order to get a decent signal. Then I noticed a pumping sound, as if a compressor was active. Is that the 002 preamp or these Sennheisers? Never noticed this pumping with other mics, or atleast it wasn't so present.
