<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Sure does, but I notice the seek time is 12ms which is a bit slow for PT, I think Digi's recommendation is for seek times under 9ms.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">I noticed that, too. However, Microcenter allowed me to exchange the Western Digital drive for a Maxtor 5000DV (7200 RPM/8 MB cache) which according to Maxtor's web site uses the Oxford 911 chipset.

I got the same results with the Maxtor drive with the Oxford 911 chipset. I couldn't afford to lose any more time so I switched to Windows XP. What a shame.

There are currently a couple of drives on <www.macmall.com> that claim right on their site to be ProTools tested and compatible. I have not tried either yet, but it is good to at least see:

-Fantom Drives
120GB Firewire Hard Drive 7200rpm
"All Fantom FireWire Hard Drives are tested and fully compatible with:
Final Cut Pro Software
Pro Tools Software
DV Software"
**************************************
-Ezquest
Cobra 120GB External FireWire Hard Drive
"All Cobra+ line of 3.5" Hard Drives are tested and fully compatible with:
Final Cut Pro Software
Pro Tools software"

Again, I have had an experience with either, but I am considering one or the other.

Well, I bought an HP PC for my studio but it started to develop hardware problems within a few days so I returned it. I decided to stick with my Powerbook and use OS 9 if I had to. I reformatted the drive and decided to try OS X one more time - and it worked! I don't know why. I formatted the drive the same way as I had before. I am now happy.
