Default Mbox 2 Pro firewire through Sound Blaster?

Hey guys,

Sorry for this question, but thinking about it now, I don't know if my current PC has any firewire connections at all. It does however have a Sound Blaster audio card with Firewire. I'm just wondering if anyone knows if going through that Firewire port would do anything negative with the Mbox 2 pro (ie, simply just won't work?) or if it will work fine.

Otherwise, I'll continue my research on how to get a firewire port installed.

Thanks for any help or suggestions.

That port should work fine for you.

Actually, no. Soundblaster firewire ports have been known to cause problems when used with Digidesign gear. You should get one of the recommended firewire cards.

Thanks, spkguitar. I'll start looking into them. And thank you Bender for at least taking the moment to answer for me.
