HDX card not found in new Thunderbolt rack mount chasis

I'm setting a new 2018 Mac mini with Catalina 10.15.5, protools 2020.5
and a thunderbolt HDX chasis. protools is running fine natively... but no HDX card is available in protools or in audio midi setup...

the unit is powered and connected properly... tried different thunderbolt cables etc

I just put the HDX card back in my old Mac Pro and its all working fine... so it's related to the new chasis

I use 2 Lynx aurora. interfaces. no problems on older Mac ....

any ideas??

Did you load the 20.5 HD driver and verify that it is not being blocked under System Prefs > Security > General?

Hmm It looks ok I'm going to reinstall the HD driver....

Still not finding the HDX card.... any other ideas?
again the car works in my other Mac with all other hardware being the same....

the new Avid rack mount thunderbolt 3 chasis with a Mac mini in it

again protools is working fine natively ...the blue light on the chais is lit I have the top off I can see the card is powered up
in system report the card is at least seen as a thunderbolt device. so the cable is good

I reinstalled the driver and protools 2020.5 still no HDX car. also the firmware on my card (I checked on my Mac Pro is ) 44.1

This same issue keeps coming up on DUC.

I did not see a clear answer to the key question... did you approve the driver install security prefs question when you installed the driver? You have to do that within 30 minutes or so of installing the driver or the ability to goes away. you absolutely have to do this with clean Catalina installs.... you may not have had to on other systems if you did in-situ macOS upgrades.

Disable SIP. Instructions all over the Web.

Try reinstalling the driver again if still stuck.

Still stuck:

Remove absolutely every other Thunderbolt device. Reboot the computer.

What does Digitest show?

What are all the Digidesign or Avid drivers shown when you run the kextstat command in Terminal?

(And remember for Pro Tools to see the HDX card you have to have both Pro Tools Ultimate and DigiLink license assets on a connected iLok or cloud license).

Have you tried a PRAM reset? If that doesn't work immediately, sometimes a simple unplug and replug of the TB cable after OSX has booted will snap it into action.

got it to work! it indeed is the driver being blocked. however it took 3 attempts to get it go including a reinstall. but it works... the. same thing will happen installing UAD. thunderbolt boxes. but they at least warn you! which I had installed that first and would have know!

PS. only one more issue the Fan is pretty loud. but only when the top is on , it almost need to be coated with something to stop a particular resonance in the enclosure.........
like loud enough to need some isolation ( the issue is all drives and any thunderbolt thing want to be pretty close to the computer so that will make it more difficult to place )
