Playlist Ordering when using Loop Recording
I am on PT8 HD, MacOS.
So, let's say i'm recording 4 takes of the same section in loop recording mode. I have "automatically generate new playlists when loop recording turned on." So, after I finish my takes and I open the list of playlists, or expand out the playlists to lanes, my takes are now ordered 4, 1, 2, 3. (with four being on the main playlist and 1,2,3 following.) A friend of mine suggested that I don't use the main playlist and start by generating a new playlist (which will gets named TRACKNAME.01) and then record from there. So I do this, now the same thing happens. After I finish recording my four passes, take 4 is actually on playlist .01 and the take 1 is on playlist .02 and so on. Am I missing something here? Is there any sort of workaround so that I can just have my playlists displayed either 1,2,3,4 top to bottom, or even 4,3,2,1 top to bottom? I would really appreciate any help with this, or if this feature is really as un-intuitive as it appears, and easy way to record 4 simultaneous takes (without a lot of stopping and generating new playlists or arming / disarming / muting tracks) and then be able to see them all in order immediately after without having to move them around. Thanks, much appreciated.

Re: Playlist Ordering when using Loop Recording
Same thing here. Another variation of this problem is:
1) Record 5 vocal takes on 5 different playlists 2) Expand the lanes 3) Comp up to the main playlist 4) Dupe the comp/main playlist so you can do alternate comps Result: The duped comp playlist goes to the top of the list of lanes instead of the bottom, where it should be. Seems like a bug. |

Re: Playlist Ordering when using Loop Recording
Bumping this old thread.
Quote:
I often do multiple passes in loop mode. So I end up with, for example, from top to bottom: 13, 9, 10, 11, 12, 8, 5, 6, 7, 4, 3, 2, 1. It would make more sense to have all playlists in chronological order, I think. Dragging playlists is an option, but it's an extra step, and also buggy. Sometimes when I drag a playlist to change the order within a track, it ends up on another track.
