Patch and Bank changes
Hello Everyone,
Just moved up to Pro tools from using Sonar for years. I'm very into midi and am having this problem. I have read and re read all user guides for setting up my midi studio properly. Everything is working well except for patch and program changes. All my ins and outs are were they are suppose to be. When I go into the track via the edit window to select a patch from one of my keyboards and/or sound modules, the keyboards and modules are not responding to the patch changes as I click on several different patch names. I fired up sonar to double check and everything works fine there. I have a Korg Triton Studio, Korg Karma, Korg 01Rw and a Motif Rack module. Any ideas? Thanks in advance, Max Velazquez MVP Music

Re: Patch and Bank changes
Hi Max,
Try this... http://www.soundpunk.com/index.php?topic=68.0 Then try this... http://www.soundpunk.com/index.php?topic=120.0 Are you running Mac or PC? Do you have the appropriate midnam files installed and displaying the patch names/banks in Pro Tools' Program Change window?

Re: Patch and Bank changes
Thanks for the reply.
I will try your links and then let you know. I have a PC. Yes, I have the midnam files that came with the software. However, late last nite I came across a thread with a link to a site where you can download midnam files. I noticed a file dedicated to my motif es rack (as opposed to motif 6,7,8), another for the karma and Triton. Nothing for my Korg 01R/W rack. I'll try your suggestion first before I go to the other site and download and import those other midnam files. Thanks, I'll let you know. Max

Re: Patch and Bank changes
Ok, read the thread at the link you gave me. To much programming involved. Better to use the time creating music. I was hoping for a quick fix.
I think I am just better off manually calling up my patches directly from my keyboards and sound mods then do a sysex dump into the session. I do appreciate your help. Thanks again for the reply. Max Velazquez
