Re: VST to RTAS adaptor problem?
No, you shouldn't have to take any extra steps; they should work like any other RTAS instrument plugin.
Make sure the volume on the aux track is turned up. Make sure that you have a patch selected. Make sure you have the output of the MIDI track set for the instrument you are trying to access.

Re: VST to RTAS adaptor problem?
I've been using the adapter for about a week now. The only problem i've had so far is with the kjaerhus classic series vst effects. The GUI for these plugs doesn't adapt properly - the knobs for the effects don't show up. I have to click a few times where each knob should be and they start appearing but i still can't see the numeric values. They still sound right though.

Re: VST to RTAS adaptor problem?
thanks for response...yeah, i made sure every thing was where it suppose to be..in fact with the same setting i can load other instruments such as BFD or anything else and every thing works flawlessly...Even programs like atmosphere which has a rewire option built in it , works fine, but when i try to use the wrapped version of atmosphere i can't hear the patches any more....so i assume something is wrong with one setting somewhere that doesn't let me hear wrapped instruments...any thoughts?

Re: VST to RTAS adaptor problem?
I've had problems with Free Amp SE. The plug loads, wraps, and works properly - however, if I try to close the session or remove the plug-in, my ProTools sessions crashes so hard that it tells me I need to reboot.

Re: VST to RTAS adaptor problem?
Which version of the wrapper?
What plugins specifically are you having problems with? Is it only Atmosphere? Or every VSTi? (P.S. as far as I am aware, Atmosphere does not have rewire capabilities. RTAS? yes. Rewire? Not that I know of.)

Re: VST to RTAS adaptor problem?
yeah, may be you're right about Atmossphere ..i have to go and check on that...but i know for sure that i have a couple of steinberg plug ins that are older version and don't support rewire or RTAS...so when i use FXpansion vst to rtas adaptor, they show up under instruments and i can open them up (such as virtual guitarist from steinberg) ,but i don't get any sound..and when i use exactly the same setting with other instruments/plug ins i have no problem....i'm also not sure what version of Fxpansioin adaptor i have..when i go home later tonight, i'll check it.....

Re: VST to RTAS adaptor problem?
Yes, it helps. Version 2 is for Pro Tools 7 and above, and won't work with older versions. Version 1.06 should be available for download for you from fxpansion, and is the one you need to work properly with Pro Tools 6.9, Just log in over at FXpansion and check your update page for the download info.
