Okay, I'll buy it.

Did you mean you had a 2009 Nehalem model Mac Pro and you self-upgraded the hardware to make it appear as 2012 Mac Pro model? If so, and you didn't change the GPU, it may very well be so that it needs to be changed as well.

I had that 2009 Nehalem tower in 2009-2013 and while it was a nice box I always relied on TDM cards and not running any extra software besides PT. So it kind of makes sense that the stock GPU from five years ago is not up to spec today.

10.9.5, thus far with PT 11.2.1 it has been rock solid.

I think so too :) And, of course (and wish that so many others would realize), once you've got your rig running solid, don't try to fix what isn't broken. Neither PT 11.3 or Yosemite have anything to offer me, so I'm happy as a clam where I'm at.

Why are clams so happy anyway?

Yeah my main install 10.8.4 is cool so I don't even want to upgrade to 10.8.5

I have a 10.9.1 install that I just booted into, I am going to upgrade that to 10.9.4 and install PT11.2.1 on that now.... Based upon your recommendation

I am getting ready for slate to drop VCC....

I had gone Windows for several years before jumping back into the Mac pool, so I started off with Mavs this time around and have been really happy with the stability overall. What is it about Mavs that some people take issue with? I've had zero problems with it, for PT or any other applications.

Yes! Once VCC goes AAX64 I'll be making that purchase as well, have had my eye on it for months now and really want to give it a go. C'mon Steven, give us VCC AAX64!

I bought it after researching on both the DUC and Gearslutz, and a bunch of other people said that changing from the GT 120 to this card solve their problems.
Thank you! I'll buy this one.

I recently upgraded my laptop to Yosemite (not my protools machine), and I can't stand it! Yosemite looks awful, and my recent model Macbook Pro is having constant crashes and freezing just while running Safari. I am going to steer clear of Yosemite as long as possible on my studio machine.
