Default Xpand! software install

Hi,

I want to make sure i install my Xpand! disc I got when I bought my 002. Couuld someone tell me step by step how to install, what folder to put it in, etc?

Also, what does the Xpand! software do exactly AND how do I bring it up and hear it?

thank you,

I just did the default install (changed no options or custom directories) and it works fine. It shows up as a plug-in that you can apply to a track. It's basically loaded with virtual instruments like keyboards, drums, bass, etc. It's pretty darn cool and you can even layer them together to get crazy sound. I like SampleTank better though.

If you have an intel Mac, follow these instructions

xpand

The installation is easy, just put the disc in and if there is a read-me file then read it first

Xpand is a software sample player. It is a closed system so you can not add more samples to it, but what is already included sounds good and is very usable. You will get access to it as a plug-in instrument on the insert of an instrument track. If that description doesn't make sense to you, then you need to spend some time reading the manual to become familiar with some of the concepts involved...Or watching the Accelerated videos on the digi website

Do you have an intel mac? Did you install the intel update, if so? Post some info about your computer, OS version, PT version, interface version etc... It will help others to troubleshoot your problems

I have an Intel Mac.....Mac Pro.... I did not install any updates, just my Xpand 1.0.1 disc.

My Mac Pro is version 10.4.8
Pro Tools 7.3 with an 002

appreciate the help, I just never have any luck with the seemingly simple things?

thanks for the help,

It didn't show up in the insert plug ins for a while. But it showed up after I put my computer in sleep mode, and then came back to it??

I don't know if you have to restart or sleep?? But it shows up now.

thanks,
paul

Digi recommends disabling sleep mode so maybe you've stumbled onto one of the reasons why.

Read through the troubleshooting thread...
