Default QuickTime Player is not currently compatible with Avid Audio Interfaces on Mac OS X 1

Anyone know if this will be resolved with OSX Mtn. Lion systems or 10.8?

"QuickTime Player does not currently support Avid audio devices as output devices with Mac OS X 10.8. Audio will not pass through and playback will not start. Please use an alternate audio interface for QuickTime Player, or use another software solution for playing back QuickTime files with Avid audio devices as a workaround for this issue."

Does this mean that you can't use Quicktime at all to push video out to a monitor or on the computer screen? Don't really understand the bug. I am still on HD Accel system and score a lot here, so obviously a concern if I go to Mountain Lion. Guess it's not a problem on Lion, but is on Mtn. Lion.

Thnx, holding off on Mtn. Lion for now until I hear about this.

From what I understand it means that if you play a movie in Quicktime, audio will not pass through your avid audio interface and core audio to your speakers.

O.K. This makes more sense. I don't really care if I can do what you are describing. I use Core Audio for that an patch it to my speaker in the room I I need to do that.

Thanks for the help!
