Full Screen gone in 12.6.1 on MacOS 10.11.6!!!

the answer to your question has two parts:

1) There is NO WAY to get full screen in Pro Tools since PT 12.6.1. ONLY Maximize. No menu item, no combination of clicks, no keyboard shortcut enables full screen mode.

2) Since OSX Yosemite I believe, the green button has enabled Full Screen in every app which supports Full Screen mode, and option-click has been Maximize. (Before that, there was a separate button on top right for Full Screen, i think starting around Lion). So you're incorrect in stating how Macs have worked "forever;" in fact it's been the way I'm mourning the loss of for several years.

Try it: open safari, chrome, notes, mail... click the green button. what happens? full screen mode. really. i'll wait... it's been the default behavior for years. PT finally implemented it not terribly long ago, around 12.0 or maybe 11.3.

As to why we'd want it: if you're on a smaller screen, it's preferable to see more tracks or more of your mix window, rather than the menu bar + window title bar always being there. Also, many people find it less distracting. And you can then use the three-finger swipe gesture to move between screens, including between your mix & edit screens.

Btw, about downgrading to 12.5.2, is it as simple as downloading it and installing it over 12.7.1? Any experience with that?

if on a MAC just rename whatever version of PT you have installed (Pro Tools 12.7.1.733) and then install other versions ... i have many installed ..

yes i understand, let's please not rehash the conversation. according to macos conventions, and the needs of everyone who signed this issue, it's broken.

Hi Huzzam. I tried it out last night. Full screen is not available on 12.8.2 either.
