I did solve it. Wasapi was a non option for me. As any windows audio based playback engine under the setup tab option was also impossible to use, showing a 6117 error.

I did have asio4all playback engine from the beginning.
Interestingly enough, in my earlier attempt to run Pro Tools 8 on my windows 10 machine, I had gone down the path of Asio4All, and downloaded it--as you may or may not be aware this was a fruitless effort as I found that Asio4All was only available to more recent versions of Pro Tools.

I finally learned just before I got Pro Tools 12 that the earlier Pro Tools, anything before Pro Tools 11 will NOT use more than 3 GB of the computer's RAM. So it became a necessity to upgrade, when I received the same sort of CPU errors on my 16 GB machine that I had always got on my 4 GB, and 2 core machine.

So to cut to the point I did solve the issue of using the RealTek onboard laptop speakers (which includes a 2.1 or 2.0-> 3 speakers... or I could simply run headphones out of the audio jack now which worked real well in a first field test at a children's playhouse this morning haha
