If you were playing back files while you were doing the session, then, unless you did something silly like deleating the audio files, they are still somewhere on your system.

Did you record the original session to the internal hard drive and then move them to the external drive?

Did you get any kind of message that the disc allocation has been changed?

Did you name any of the files while recording? If so, and with the external drive connected, do a search.

Stone .... Thought I recorded the files directly to external drive ... save session to ...??? I didn't save to the desktop /internal first ... tried going directly to EX HD so as to not affect the working system(as suggested ) ..all I got in the EXHD search , is the edit window ... no WF's , no audio files ... nada......??? did one big long file /5 songs in one ... named ... now lost ??? Still searching... Thanks for the help!!!

OK , I got the band recorded again ... saved the files to the desktop(worked) , saved a copy to the USB EXHD from the desktop ...Success!!! now I have all these folders hanging around... tried putting into I tunes , But shows up in the library as many files, not just one song..Tried "bounce to disk , but didn't know where they went ...??? You guys have any ideas ???

Mix the song and then bounce to disk the two-track mix. Also, please read the manual.

When bouncing to disk, you will see where the files go since you tell it the path and the name of the file.
