Unable to install PTLE 8.0 from DVD

Hello,
I recently purchased an 003+ Factory and the DVD for PTLE 8.0 won't load in any of 4 systems that I've tried. So I'm unable to install the software. This sounds like a bad DVD to me and I've noticed that others have had similar problems. Is there somewhere on the Avid website that I can download the software? Will Avid send another DVD wallet? I've opened a support ticket but haven't received a response from support for several days.

Copy it on to your desk top first, then when you open it you should find an install icon.

It is a known issue that some PT8 install disks were bad...unusable. Copying it to your desktop may or may not work.

You will probably need to contact Avid to get a downloadable copy.

Pretty sure that Avid sells a replacement DVD for something like $14.95, but if you are registered(and have a MyAvid account) you should be able to download the installer.

Thanks for your responses! The DVD does nothing when inserted into the drive except a momentary spin-up. There are no files to view or copy to the desktop. I have registered all serials that came with the package and have an account setup.
But I can't seem to find a download for the full version of PTLE 8.0.3 or 8.0 to then update - only the updates of 8.0.1 - 8.0.5. I've tried one of these but it wouldn't install.
Hopefully someone in support is monitoring this and can point me in the right direction for download and purchase of a replacement. (Shouldn't have to purchase a replacement for a brand new defective DVD - but whatever get's the job done.)

yeah if you have registered....then log in and go to

My Products (Account Management)......>Your products.

Then that play button ( blue ) ....to download.....and yes it should be the full installer.....I think it was 8.3 but i don't remember

I couldn't agree more, especially considering it's a known issue by Avid.

How did you get the new PT8 ? I'm trying to do the same thing. I couldnt find it anywhere. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
