Default Waverider Demo Nightmare

I downloaded the demo of this plug in some weeks back, decided I didn't like it, and removed it from the plug ins folder. I'm on Mountain Lion and a Mac Pro.

Now, whenever I open Pro Tools, I get an alert saying "WAVERIDER ...you have 16,000 more days to demo" and an OK button. When I decline, Pro Tools asks if it would like me to move the plug in to the "unused folder," whereupon if I say "yes," PT crashes. So now I just say "No" and PT opens fine.

I can't find out why Pro Tools still thinks it's there, and I just noticed the "Support" area of the website for this plug is nothing but an FAQ.

Be warned against this plug in.

TH

Did you trash your prefs so that it rebuilds the plugin list? Repair disk permissions? To good places to start.

I actually just bought it a week or two ago. I dig it. But I concur. Trash preferences and see what happens.

could it be both AAX and DPM were installed and you only got 1 of them?

Hey guys, I trashed prefs and that did the trick! Thanks. I forgot to try the basics (never have had to do this to get rid of a plug in!)

No there were no instances of the plug in at all in the plug ins folder. And Logic was not giving me any problems trying to load the non existent plug either. Strange.

Still, I will also look at the developer site first more carefully before purchasing or trying a demo...no contact number or email is a bad thing.

Thanks again

I am sorry but it seems like you missed the email which was sent to you when you requested the demo. It included a support email address. You must have also missed the large FEEDBACK tag hanging on the side of each page on our site. Never mind our Facebook page.
Plus, if you had done a quick search in this forum (and GS), you would have found that since day 1 of Wave Rider I have been actively engaging with our user base.
And you are warning people against the plugin?
Not fair.

I am glad it is sorted, have never came across this error. Perhaps it could be a permissions issue.
BTW, Logic wasn't giving you errors because Wave Rider is RTAS and AAX.

I'll add another nod towards Vedat.. I've had this plug almost since it came out and it's a good plug. He's always been around the forums and always willing to help out. Nothing but good things to say about the plug and the guy.

Seriously, if you're going to be a mod here a little due-diligence on your part would be a good idea...
