Default Satellite link between differing sample rate HD rigs

Hi,
I like to mix at 96kHz on my HD-7 PTHD9 through analog outboards and console to a second HD-4 PTHD10 running at 44.1kHz to avoid sample rate conversion.

Problem is, I'd like the target system to chase transport of the source.

Is this possible with satellite link ? Even though target system will be on record, and soure is on playback?

I have Sync IO. Does the target system have to be word clocked to the source system (cause it's running a different sample rate).
