Re: Recorded MIDI is ahead in playback
Have you entered any 'Offsets' that contradict those of which were recorded in the first instance?

www.hljod.is/PT this is as simple as i can put it... aux track with click and a instr trk with xpand and proj is at 120bpm and what u see is when i tapped the keyb in beat of the click (and "no!!"inp quant is not on) ps.. Yesterday I talked so some guys at school (VFS.com),, and many are having the same prob after upgr to cs3,,, (at least we wanna link it to cs3) Something to do with that Digi resantly changed the midi code to nine hundred somethin pulses...int the midi .. Re: Recorded MIDI is ahead in playback
Interesting, I just did a first time MIDI recording with AIR's Velvet since the cs 3 update and I have no such problems. In fact, she's running better than she ever has.
Mbox 2 Pro (MTS) 7.3.1 cs3 ASUS K8N-DL 265 Opteron AMD Quad Are you using a Mac or PC? Have you tried rolling back the revision? filosofem

Re: Recorded MIDI is ahead in playback
I just want to add that I've had this same problem, though intermittently, with my MBox2 Pro on my Windows machine. Very odd.
Sometimes, even the click is unstable and unusable, so I created a midi track and penciled in crotchets (quarter notes) and triggered a clave on XPand, only to find that that plays back skew-whiff. However, more important at the moment, is that sometimes recorded audio is playing back ahead of time! After tracking and then trying to overdub, I find that the recorded sound is out of sync and I have to nudge it forwards by about 3000 samples. Insane. Sonny |

Re: Recorded MIDI is ahead in playback
This sounds suspiciously like the MIDI problems created when the WinXP dual core hotfix has not been installed. If you're on a dual-core AMD processor, you should also apply the AMD dual-core optimizer patch.
Is this possibly the case? Is everyone experiencing this on a dual-core system? Info on where to get those updates can be found in the Win XP/ Pro Tools 6.x/7.x General Troubleshooting thread. |
